Documents Required and Legal Process For Property Purchase

A tax number is required from the local tax office for all parties wishing to own the property

Tax number is required to open your bank account in Turkey

Passport details for all parties to be listed as owner on Tapu

Recent photographs (2 passport size) for the land registry and 2 more if you will appoint a legal representative through the notary.

Some documentation may need to be translated and notarised and we can arrange this for you with an authorised translator (small fee applies).

It is ideal to have your funds in place before you visit Turkey to view property. This prevents frustration and disappointment when you find a property to buy, but are unable to proceed with the purchase due to lack of availability of funds
Additional costs after Property Purchase

If you are purchasing a property in a complex, you need to include monthly service charges into your budget.

Council tax which is payable and collected by the municipality

Earthquake insurance is mandatory for all houses and we can arrange this for you. You may also want to have Buildings and contents insurance, which is not essential but advisable to ensure your property are also insured, and again we can assist in obtaining quotations with reputable firms.
